Before there was a studio, there was the beach. Calming Spot's sunset sessions bring crystal bowls, ocean air and the rhythm of the waves together on Santa Monica Beach.
How it started
In 2021, T.R. and Sara Gourley began hosting sound baths on Santa Monica Beach. Friends came. Then strangers. Then crowds. Those beach sessions grew into the candlelit studio on 6th Street, and the beach is still where Calming Spot feels most like itself.
A beach sound bath is the same 50-minute journey of guided breath and crystal singing bowls, held in the open air with the sky going dark over the water.

Public beach sessions are seasonal. They'll appear here as soon as they're on the schedule, and private beach sound baths can be booked any time.
Where we meet
Next to Lifeguard Tower 24 at 2400 Ocean Front Walk, Santa Monica, CA 90405. Perry's Café and the volleyball courts are right beside us. Parking is $1 an hour in the adjacent beach lot.
Book the beach for your group
Private sunset sound baths are one of the most memorable ways to mark a birthday, a bachelorette or a team offsite. Each runs one hour and includes a card pull and intention setting.
- 3–4 people: $500
- Up to 8 people: $900
- Up to 25 people: $1,750
- Each guest beyond 25: +$55
